PIENSALIA Sudoku methodology
PIENSALIA boards are generated from a seed and a difficulty. The process aims to provide a valid, consistent puzzle without relying on hand-written boards.
Board generation
The engine creates a complete solution, removes values, and analyzes the result until it reaches the requested level. Transformations preserve Sudoku rules while reproducible seeds produce different boards.
Unique-solution validation
Every board is checked for a complete solution and one valid solution. Expert and Extreme templates pass the same validation before being shown.
Difficulty classification
Easy shows more direct clues; Medium asks for candidate comparison; Hard, Expert, and Extreme require longer deductions. The label describes complexity, not a guaranteed time.
Daily seed and local saving
The daily challenge derives its seed from the UTC date and difficulty. Games, progress, and statistics are stored locally; clearing browser data can remove that history.
The method separates generation from play: the board is prepared and checked before the player sees it. This keeps the rules stable while allowing many different starting positions.
Frequently asked questions
Seeds create variety, but each board passes validation. Difficulty describes logical complexity, while solving time depends on the player.
This separation between preparation and play keeps the experience predictable. A solving time reflects the player?s choices, notes, and routine rather than an undocumented generator change.
